Zach Rodriguez, the politician, has spent most of his campaign for Clerk of Court bashing incumbent Clerk of Court Rebecca Matoska-Mentink. His lies, mistruths, and circle talk are among many reasons he can’t be trusted to hold this office.

To better serve you, we have spent countless hours fact-checking every post-, every printout- every message from Zach and setting the record straight.

Claim: “Rodriguez has spent countless hours working in and around the courthouse…”

Truth: Zach Rodriguez has no identified academic or professional certifications. He received his private detective license in March of 2021.

The Becky Difference: Becky has over 25+ years of courthouse management & legal experience. Becky has spent years inside of the Courthouse and has numerous academic and professional certifications including a Paralegal Certificate, a Bachelor’s Degree, and a Master’s Degree.

Claim: “Three year term County Board Supervisor”

Truth: Zach Rodriguez’s 2022 election was settled by drawing a name out of a hat. Voters in his neighborhood know his record and his work ethic.

The Becky Difference: Becky has been overwhelmingly re-elected by voters across Kenosha County since 2006. Voters know that they won’t get campaign rhetoric but real results.

Claim: “He has already identified several areas where court operations can and should be enhanced”

Truth: As a County Board Supervisor, Zach could have suggested changes or recommended policy. He didn’t.

The Becky Difference: Becky's record shows she understands the job. From the formation of a new Circuit Court branch, moving Court filings electronically, managing juries, re-opening the courthouse just 3 days after the 2020 civil unrest, and navigating courts through the COVID pandemic, Becky has delivered. Zach is a politician, Becky is a leader. Results matter.

Claim: “It seems she hopes to continue to coast on the lackluster status quo she has created”

Truth: Politician Zach Rodriguez hopes to use a political campaign from April to diminish the hard work and accomplishments that Becky has delivered for you.

The Becky Difference: Empty words don’t stack up to the accomplishments, investment into community, and leadership that Becky has brought and continues to bring to Kenosha County.

Claim: “Trusted Leadership. Proven Excellence”

Truth: Zach Rodriguez has accomplished very little for his constituents. He lost his County issued iPad (costing you thousands), his attendance record is lackluster, and he lacks decency and respect.

Zach’s attendance was called into question by fellow County Board Supervisors. Zach claimed that the meetings he missed were not important. He skipped a budget meeting to attend a political rally. He creates discord among his County Board colleagues.

Claim: “I will ensure jury duty is efficient and enjoyable”

Truth: Politician Zach Rodriguez can promise the world- but can he actually deliver?

The Becky Difference: Becky's effective and swift management of Court operations has created streamlined approaches to jury duty. (Again, nothing Zach can do.)

Claim: "I will eliminate the fee collection backlog."

Truth: Fee collection (in the Courthouse) is a streamlined process which Zach can do nothing about. Again, rhetoric from someone who has never held a management, legal, or collections job.

Claim: “I will ensure our justice system is easy to navigate.”

Truth: Politician Zach Rodriguez can promise the world- but can he actually deliver?

The Becky Difference: If Zach was interested in making justice easy to navigate- he could intern with the District Attorney, apply to be a Deputy Sheriff, or advocate for more funding for justice processes (Something Becky has and continues to do.)
